THERMTEX INFRARED PAIN RELIEF SYSTEM
USER MANUAL

THERMOTEX is a deep-penetrating infrared therapeutic pain relief system that is different from all other types of therapeutic products on the market today.

FOR THE TEMPORARY RELIEF OF PAIN resulting from inflammation of the joints, tendons, and tissues, associated with conditions such as arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, tennis elbow, etc.

FOR THE TEMPORARY RELIEF OF STIFFNESS and pain resulting from lactic acid build up in muscles and from the pain and discomfort of strains and sprains.

FOR THE TEMPORARY RELIEF OF PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH STRESS. READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

DANGER - TO REDUCE THE RISK OF BURNS, ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND FIRE, THIS PRODUCT MUST BE USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS.

  • DO NOT USE WHILE SLEEPING.
  • DO NOT USE ON AN INFANT.
  • DO NOT USE WITH LINIMENT, SALVE OR OINTMENTS - MAY CAUSE SKIN IRRITATION.
  • DO NOT PLUG IN AND LEAVE UNATTENDED.
  • THIS PAD IS NOT TO BE USED ON OR BY ANY INVALID, SLEEPING OR UNCONSCIOUSPERSON OR A PERSON WITH POOR BLOOD CIRCULATION UNLESS CAREFULLY ATTENDED.
  • CHECK SKIN UNDER THE PAD FREQUENTLY.
  • NEVER USE PAD WITHOUT OUTER COVER IN PLACE.
  • DO NOT IMMERSE YOUR THERMOTEX PAD IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. THE OUTER COVER MAY BE REMOVED FOR CLEANING. HAND WASH, MACHINE WASH OR DRY CLEAN.
  • PERIODICALLY EXAMINE THE INNER COVERING (WHITE PVC). RETURN PAD FOR REPAIR IF INNER PVC SHOWS ANY SIGN OF DETERIORATION.
  • DO NOT USE PINS OR OTHER METALLIC MEANS TO FASTEN THIS PAD IN PLACE.
  • DO NOT FOLD OR BEND YOUR THERMOTEX TTS GOLD, USE ONLY IN THE FLAT OR SLIGHTLY BOWED POSITION. YOUR TTS PLATINUM, TTS ELBOW, TTS KNEE, AND TTS SHOULDER WILL WRAP, THE ELEMENTS THEMSELVES MUST NOT BE BENT.
  • NEVER PULL YOUR THERMOTEX BY THE ELECTRICAL CORD.
  • DO NOT USE THE CORD AS A HANDLE.

Your THERMOTEX Infrared pad is easy to use.

It is important to know that the infrared energy radiates only from one side of your pad. Place the hard side of your THERMOTEX element towards your body. The padded side does not heat.

The THERMOTEX Pain Relief System uses a multi-position switch. You will want to start your treatment on the high setting for the first 15 minutes and then switch to low for the duration of the treatment. If you find it too warm, you can put a towel between your body and the THERMOTEX pad. The infrared heat penetrations will still be effective. All prolonged use must be on the low setting.

It is important that you use your THERMOTEX for a minimum of 30 - 45 minutes (longer if desired) on each area that you are treating. The first two or three weeks we recommend you use your THERMOTEX twice per day (for chronic pain you may need to use it three to four times per day). After that, and when you have experienced pain relief, you may not need to use it as often. We recommend daily use. This is particularly important for chronic and inflammatory pain. Regular use of THERMOTEX will significantly reduce levels of inflammation and lactic acid build up.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND that the heat you feel will not always be the same. This is due to your body’s individual and varying reaction. After you have been using your THERMOTEX regularly, you may find that it does not feel as warm as it did earlier. There is NOTHING WRONG with your THERMOTEX. This is what you should expect. It is a good sign - it means it is working well and you will be experiencing relief of pain. It is also normal to feel greater heat on one side of your knee than the other, or on one place on your back than the other, etc.

HOW TO USE YOUR THERMOTEX

NOTE: RECOMMENDED TREATMENT TIME IS 30-45 MINUTES.

FOR PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH NEURALGIA / EARACHE / FACIAL SPASMS - Fold a towel and place it on top of your THERMOTEX pad, (the infrared will penetrate directly through the towel). For earaches, lean the side of your head against the pad, for facial problems hold your head over the towel and remain in this position for recommended treatment time. It is not necessary to place your face directly on the pad.

FOR PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE BACK - Place your THERMOTEX Platinum or Gold behind your back or lie down with it under the area that requires treatment.

FOR PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE SHOULDERS AND NECK - drape your THERMOTEX Platinum or Shoulder system over the shoulder so the infrared penetrates the shoulder.

FOR PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE HIPS - Place your THERMOTEX at the back and side of your hip.

FOR PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE KNEES - Wrap your THERMOTEX Platinum or Knee unit around your knee. Remember - hard side towards the knee.

FOR PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE ARMS AND ELBOWS - Wrap your THERMOTEX Platinum or Elbow/hand unit on area where treatment is required.

FOR PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE HANDS AND FEET - Make a muff with your THERMOTEX Platinum, Elbow/hand or Knee unit and slide your hand or foot inside.

FOR PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH HEMORRHOIDS - Using a firm chair (the THERMOTEX element must not be bent), sit on your THERMOTEX Platinum or Gold for the recommended treatment time. For more comfort, a towel may be folded and placed between you and your THERMOTEX.

WHEN THERMOTEX INFRARED SHOULD NOT BE USED

Specific Contraindications: (Do Not Use in Cases of)

  • Pregnancy
  • Adrenal Suppression
  • Hemophilia

Cautionary Notes: Consult your health care professional before using THERMOTEX if you have any of the following:

  • Malignancy (including skin lesions)
  • Chronically hot or swollen joint
  • Circulatory diseases
  • Implanted silicone or silicone prostheses
  • Using prescription drugs
  • Metal implants
  • Recent acute joint injury

THERMOTEX WRIST This system is used for treating repetitive strain injuries of the wrist and forearm. This model uses 1 - 2”x 8” infrared insert utilizing only 8 watts of power. This model is best suited to treating conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome.

THERMOTEX KNEE For specific use on knee joints, this model uses 2 - 3”x 8” infrared inserts utilizing 24 watts of power. This model has adjustable panels and is best suited to treatment of knee, calf or the thigh area.

THERMOTEX ELBOW This system is best used on elbow joints. With 2- 3” x 8” infrared inserts utilizing 24 watts of power with adjustable panels, this model is best suited to treating tennis elbow but can also be used for treating carpal tunnel syndrome or other injuries of the hand and wrist.

THERMOTEX SHOULDER For specific use on the shoulder the small model uses 2 - 3”x 8” infrared inserts utilizing 24 watts of power. This model has adjustable panels and treats the front and rear of the shoulder simultaneously. A larger shoulder model is available using 2- 5”x13” infrared inserts and has a third 8” infrared insert that treats the collarbone area using 38 watts of power.

THERMOTEX PLATINUM Our most versatile and popular system with 3 adjustable panels, TTS Platinum utilizes 3 - 3”x 8” infrared inserts utilizing 36 watts of power. This unit is ideal to treat almost any part of the body.

THERMOTEX PLATINUM PLUS This system has the same great versatility as our platinum system but also has 2 independent variable speed massage units.

THERMOTEX GOLD This single infrared insert utilizes 35 watts of power. It is best suited for the treatment of more heavily muscled areas of the back or hips.

THERMOTEX PROFESSIONAL Developed for treatment table use, this 38” x 18” model covers the entire spine area and utilizes 6 infrared inserts in total.
