How to Use Thermotex Far Infrared Legging Equine Therapy Systems

Thermotex far infrared legging equine therapy systems are ideal for treating many forelimb and hindlimb disorders including damaged equine tendons, equine ring bone disorder and equine arthritis.

Please follow the instruction guidelines below carefully for proper use of your legging equine therapy systems.

Step by Step Instruction Guidelines:

To make sure the animal is secure, tie it up or place it in cross ties. You may have to use a muzzle as well.
Remove any dirt, liniment, poultice, or any other applied substance on the legs prior to using the leggings.
Plug in the legging equine therapy systems and place them on the high setting for a few minutes to pre-warm them.
Use the Velcro straps to fasten the leggings comfortably on the animal with the short pads on the top portion of the legs. Be patience when applying the leggings the first time as this may be a strange concept for the animal.
Keep the leggings and cords away from the animals’ mouth and feet.
Use the legging equine therapy system on the low setting for a few minutes until the animal becomes acquainted with the therapy then switch it to high for 10-15 minutes.
After the initial 15 minutes, switch to the low setting for the duration of the therapy session.

At the end of the session, wipe down the inside of the legging with a mild disinfectant. Allow them to dry thoroughly before storing them in a clean dry place.

A rigorous massage to the tendons and ligaments is ideal after the therapy session.

Important Safety Instructions

NEVER use legging equine therapy systems with any liniment, salve or ointment.
DO NOT leave leggings unattended when plugged in and check hide under leggings frequently.
DO NOT immerse legging cover in water until the electrical pads and cord have been removed.
DO NOT hold the legging cover in place with pins or other metallic objects.
NEVER use pads unless the outer cover is in place.
PERIODICALLY check the inner cover (white PVC) around the heat pads to ensure they remain in good shape and are not showing signs of deterioration. Return the leggings for repair if inner cover shows any sign of deterioration.
DO NOT bend or fold the heating element in the legging.
DO NOT pull the legging cord or use it as a handle.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. Warranty Claim Procedure: Any product that proves defective within the warranty period will, transportation charges pre-paid, be repaired or replaced at the option of the Company, free of charge.
